Yamaha Grizzly Quad — what this package actually is
This is the high-displacement option on our quad fleet. The Yamaha Grizzly is a 450cc-class (and up) work-and-recreation quad with longer-travel suspension, wider tyres, a larger frame, and the torque profile to push the deepest red-dune route on the plot. Built for experienced riders who want the deepest dune confidence, larger-frame riders who find smaller quads cramped, and guests who explicitly want the longest route on the fleet.
You ride. The lead rider runs in front of the convoy on a sister Grizzly; the sweep rider on the back has off-grid radio and a tow strap. Pre-ride briefing covers throttle, brake, body position, dune-crest etiquette, weight transfer on slopes, and what to do if the Grizzly's extra torque catches you unprepared on a soft crest. Helmet sized on the spot; closed shoes mandatory; long sleeves recommended.
Vehicle and route detail
Engine and chassis: Yamaha Grizzly 450 (or higher displacement variant when available), automatic transmission, locking front differential, longer-travel suspension package, and wider tyre profile than the COBRA or Single Seater. Frame is taller and wider — the right platform for riders 180cm+ and for larger-frame riders who feel cramped on a smaller quad. Fuel tank is sized for the full deep-route loop without a refuel break.
Route: a private desert plot south-east of Dubai. The 30-minute Grizzly window completes a red-dune lap with one photo stop. The 60-minute window opens the full deep-route — second sand-system on the west boundary, longer crests, sand-board option, and a fuel-and-water break around the 35-minute mark. The 120-minute deep route extends further into the second sand-system and is where the Grizzly platform earns its premium. Total ride distance is 8–18 km depending on duration and convoy pace.
Convoy structure: lead in front, sweep on the back for groups of 3+ bikes, off-grid radio. The Grizzly's width matters on the deeper crests — the convoy line is set to single-file in the narrowest dune sequences. The support vehicle carries first-aid kit, water, spare helmet and a tow strap.
Booking-to-drop-off flow
Eight steps from message to home for the deepest-dune quad on the fleet.
- WhatsApp +971 52 440 9525 with date, riding experience and pickup hotel. Live price returns inside operating hours.

- Pickup vehicle (4×4) collects you 30–45 minutes before ride start.
- On arrival you sign a brief damage waiver and confirm vehicle assignment.
- Pre-ride briefing in person — extended on the Grizzly because torque profile differs from the smaller quads.

- Mid-loop water + photo stop. On 60+ min windows, fuel-and-water break before the deep-route second sand-system.
- Drop-off back to your pickup hotel. Door-to-door is roughly 2 hours (30-min ride) up to 4 hours (120-min ride).

Safety, eligibility and honest gating
The Grizzly is the deepest-dune platform on the fleet and the briefing is honest at the meeting point: a guest with no prior quad-bike experience is gently steered to the Single Seater first. The Grizzly is not unsafe for a beginner, but the extra torque rewards a rider who has felt throttle modulation on a smaller bike before. If you have any doubt about your confidence, start with the Single Seater 60-minute window and book the Grizzly on a return visit.
Minimum age on the Grizzly is 18. Honest medical declaration is expected — back, neck, shoulder, recent surgery and pregnancy are real reasons to skip. Closed shoes mandatory; long sleeves recommended; elbow / knee guards available on request. We will not run a guest visibly under the influence of alcohol. See /safety-certifications/.
Best window for the Grizzly
Sunset slots October–February are where the Grizzly earns its premium. Cooler ride feel, dramatic crest light on the longer dune line, and the 120-minute deep route is photographic in a way the shorter loops are not. Weekend sunset slots in November and December book up 7–10 days ahead — earlier than the Single Seater.
Summer (June–August) is sunrise and sunset only. The Grizzly's engine bay runs warm; mid-day sessions are not safe in July. During Ramadan, pickup times shift around iftar; message us with the date for the adjusted timetable.
Pricing transparency
AED 350 per bike for the 30-minute Yamaha Grizzly window. Published rate, same rate on WhatsApp, same rate at the meeting point. No booking-fee markup, no convenience surcharge, no peak-hour multiplier. The 60-minute and 120-minute upgrades are quoted on WhatsApp because they vary slightly by season and group size. Hotel pickup inside the standard Dubai zone is bundled.
Combo rates: Grizzly + private evening safari is a popular combination for experienced visitors who want a long desert day. Group rates kick in from four bikes booked together. See /pricing/.
Common booking mistakes
- Picking the Grizzly as a first-time rider — start with the Single Seater on a 60-minute window, save the Grizzly for next visit
- Picking the 30-min Grizzly window — the platform does not wake up in that time; book 60-min minimum
- Booking mid-day in July — engine bay runs warm; surface heat is the binding constraint
- Skipping the 120-min option then asking to extend on the day — depends on the next slot being free
- Forgetting elbow or knee guards on a windy day — the deep-route second sand-system kicks up more sand than the standard loop
For experienced riders, larger frames and the deep route
Experienced riders — the 60-minute and 120-minute windows are where the platform earns its price. The deep-route second sand-system is the dune line built for this bike.
Larger-frame riders — the Grizzly's frame is taller and wider than the COBRA or Single Seater. Riders 180cm+ find the platform substantially more comfortable; foot-on-the-ground stops are easier; the bike feels less cramped on a long loop.
Photographers — pair the Grizzly 120-minute window with the photographer follow-vehicle add-on. The deeper dune line, the rear-wheel sand throw, and the longer crests produce frames that the shorter loops on smaller bikes do not.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Yamaha Grizzly suitable for beginners?
No — we are honest at booking. A guest with no prior quad-bike experience is gently steered to the Single Seater first. The Grizzly's extra torque rewards a rider who has felt throttle modulation on a smaller bike before.
What's the minimum age on the Grizzly?
Minimum age is 18 — the Grizzly is the deepest-dune platform on the fleet and the throttle response is sharper than the smaller bikes.
How long should I book on the Grizzly?
60 minutes is the minimum for the platform to wake up. 120 minutes is where the Grizzly earns its premium on the deep-route second sand-system.
Why does the Grizzly cost more than the Single Seater?
Higher displacement engine, longer-travel suspension, wider tyres, larger frame, and the deep-route loop has higher operational cost. AED 350 per bike versus AED 250 reflects the platform tier.
Is summer mid-day Grizzly riding possible?
No — the engine bay runs warm and the surface heat is unsafe in July and August. Sunrise and sunset windows only in summer.
