Quick answer

How booking actually works

Booking on this site is intentionally simple. You message WhatsApp with four details — service, date, group size, hotel — and the office returns a confirmed price, the pickup window, and the meeting point. No web form chain, no account creation, no upfront card capture for standard bookings. The thread itself becomes the booking record; the office references it on the morning of pickup.

The reason booking lives on WhatsApp rather than a web checkout is simple: desert tourism availability moves week to week. Bike availability, balloon weather windows, group capacity at the camp — all of these shift. A live message reply lets the office confirm the actual conditions for your date instead of selling you a slot the operator might not be able to deliver.

The first message — what to include

A complete first message gets a complete reply. Drop these four lines and the price returns in the next message.

  1. Service — quad bike / dune buggy / desert safari / hot air balloon / camel ride / combo
  2. Date — exact date if firm, or a 2–3 day window if flexible
  3. Group size — adults and children separately; mention any child under 8 for safari, under 5 for balloon
  4. Pickup hotel or area — hotel name + emirate (Dubai / Sharjah / Abu Dhabi)

Reply window and what the operator sends back

During operating hours (06:00 to 22:00 daily) the typical reply window is under five minutes. Outside operating hours messages are queued and answered first thing in the morning. There is no chatbot — replies come from a person at the office who can see the live availability sheet for the date you asked about.

The reply contains: the confirmed AED price (or the live-quoted price for services that are CC-dependent or weather-dependent), the pickup time window, the meeting point, what is included, and what is not. If your booking has any condition the operator wants you to review — minimum age for the experienced-tier dirt bike, balloon weather rebook policy, surcharge for cross-emirate pickup — that condition is in the same message. No surprises at the meeting point.

Deposit and payment by service

Every service settles in cash or card at the meeting point. Online card pre-payment is offered on request for some services but not required. No service requires a card-on-file deposit.

Same rate every channel — what that means

The published rate on this site is the rate you pay. There is no booking-fee markup, no convenience-fee surcharge, no weekend multiplier, no peak-hour surge. The price you see for ATV at AED 200 / bike for a one-hour ride is the price you pay whether you book Monday at noon or Saturday at 5 pm.

Group rates and multi-service combo rates are the only deviation from the published table. Group rates kick in from four bookings on the same activity and date; combo rates apply when two or more services are bought on the same day or back-to-back days. Both are quoted on WhatsApp because the discount depends on the specific combination — there is no published combo grid.

Pickup-day checklist

On the morning of your booking, this is the short list to make sure pickup runs without friction.

  • Be at the lobby five minutes before the start of your pickup window
  • Bring closed shoes for any desert activity (sandals fine for camel-only bookings)
  • Cash or card for the meeting-point settlement (cash slightly faster, both accepted)
  • A jacket for early-morning pickups (balloon: 04:30 lobby; sunrise quad: 05:30)
  • Charged phone — the driver may message your number on arrival
  • Hotel staff briefed: tell concierge to expect "Dubai desert tour" pickup if your hotel routes guests through a security gate

Pickup zones and surcharges

Standard pickup zone covers Business Bay, Downtown, Dubai Marina, JBR, Palm Jumeirah, Deira, Al Barsha, JLT and the Emirates Hills cluster — pickup is included in the published price for any service where pickup is part of the package (safari, balloon, multi-hour quad/buggy, full-day combos).

Out-of-zone pickup carries a transfer surcharge that is quoted on WhatsApp before you commit. Common out-of-zone pickups: Sharjah hotels, Dubai International Airport (if you want to start the day directly from arrivals), Yas Island, Saadiyat Island, Ras Al Khaimah, and the cross-emirate desert resorts. The surcharge varies by distance and time of day; the office quotes it once and the rate stands for the booking.

Hotel pickup is not included on standalone short-format services (the AED 150 camel ride, the one-hour AED 200 ATV slot). Adding pickup to those is possible — the surcharge is quoted in the same WhatsApp thread.

Cancellation, rescheduling and refunds

Standard cancellation timeline applies to most services: 96+ hours before the start time = no fee, full refund or free reschedule; 72+ hours = 50% refund or free reschedule to a later date; 24–72 hours = 25% refund; under 24 hours = 100% (no refund). A clearer breakdown lives on the dedicated cancellation policy page.

Operator-side cancellation — if the operator grounds a service for weather (balloon, sandstorm), animal welfare (camel rotation), or unsafe surface conditions (heat advisory in summer for any motorised desert ride), the cancellation is full refund OR free rebook to the next available date — your choice. No admin fee, no rebooking penalty.

Rescheduling is free up to 24 hours before pickup for any reason. Inside 24 hours rescheduling is treated as a cancellation per the table above. The exception is the balloon rebook policy, which is free even on the morning of the flight if the operator weather-call grounds the launch.

Group bookings, corporate, private hire

Group bookings (4+ guests on the same service and date) get a group rate quoted on WhatsApp. The discount depends on group size and which service — the headline saving is around 10% for a group of 4–6, escalating modestly with bigger groups. Pickup logistics for groups of 8+ are coordinated separately because vehicle capacity becomes the binding constraint.

Corporate bookings — team-building afternoons, conference attendee programmes, hotel-incentive groups — are handled with a custom quote that includes pickup from a single location, group photographer (optional), branded BBQ-camp setup (optional), and a senior office contact for the day. Send the headcount, date, hotel and any special requirement; reply usually within an hour during business days.

Private hire — sole-use BBQ camp, sole-use balloon basket, sole-use 4WD safari with no group join — is offered. Pricing is service-specific and quoted on WhatsApp; private hire typically lands at 2.5×–3.5× the per-person rate depending on capacity used.

Common booking mistakes to avoid

  • Sending a one-line message ("how much for safari?") — the office cannot quote without date and group size
  • Booking a hot air balloon for June, July or August — flights do not operate in peak summer
  • Booking a sunrise quad slot without warm layers — the desert at 05:30 is genuinely cold even in November
  • Asking for "the cheapest option" without saying what you actually want — quad biking and a 1-hour ATV slot are two different price tiers and one of them is not what you wanted
  • Forgetting to mention a child under 8 at safari booking — the camp activity programme is set up around adult-mix groups; advance notice means the kid-friendly seat at the BBQ table is held
  • Forgetting to mention a recent surgery or back/neck condition for any motorised desert activity — the briefing will turn you away if it is the first you mention it on the day

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the fastest way to book?

WhatsApp +971 52 440 9525. Reply usually returns in under five minutes during operating hours (06:00–22:00 daily). Phone +971 50 496 8087 works too if WhatsApp is not your channel.

What information should the first message contain?

Service · date · group size (adults / children with ages) · pickup zone · time preference · any medical or dietary notes. A complete first message saves a back-and-forth and gets a complete first reply.

Do I pay a deposit?

Most rides are pay-at-pickup — no card on file, no advance deposit. Five tiers carry a 25% advance deposit because the slot is held against scarce capacity: overnight safari, VIP private safari, hot air balloon, dirt bike and corporate combos of 10+ pax.
